Senior Modeling, Simulation and Operations Research Analyst
Job Description:
Responsibilities include overall technical direction of diverse programs in military operations analysis, operations research applications, and defense modeling and simulation development and employment; new business development and management of existing programs; and formulation of the group’s technical vision and direction.
The lead M&S analyst will oversee technical and product development by performing the following duties personally or though subordinate technical staff:
- Work with Group Manager to establish current and future Group objectives, plans, and policies, particularly in the areas of operations analysis/research and modeling and simulation as applied to military and homeland security problems of national significance.
- Develop comprehensive knowledge of company M&S products, procedures for product improvement, development, and maintenance, and presentation of product capabilities. Ability to understand and develop model capabilities from first principles of systems and associated operational utility through software implementation is essential to the position.
- Lead and Coordinate enhancements to existing Metron products and participate in the development of new products. Lead development of a comprehensive military M&S and Operations Research capability to include non-Metron products.
- Technically and managerially support continuing and evolving operations analysis projects that employ Metron-developed M&S tools and techniques.
- Provide guidance, direction, and authorization to carry out plans and procedures, consistent with established policy.
- Represent both the group and the company as a whole to major customers.
- Ensure that intellectual property is protected, and organizational conflict of interest issues are mitigated.
- Perform supervisory functions for subordinate managers and staff members.
Desired Qualifications:
- A graduate degree in a technical field (e.g., mathematics, engineering, physics, statistics, or operations research), or equivalent, to a PhD level of capability.
- A minimum of 5-7 years of defense programs experience in the areas of Analysis, Modeling, and Simulation, to include technical and program management experience with industry or government.
- US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED
