Network Administrator
Job Description:
Immediately seeking a Network Administrator with expertise in Windows operating systems. This person will play an integral role in the day-to-day operation of our IT office.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Documenting instructions, system and network changes, as well as ongoing and resolved issues
- Supporting a wide variety of (primarily) Windows end-user software
- Providing IS purchase recommendations, analysis of requirements, possible improvements and other IS solutions
- Supporting Windows 2003 based platforms
- Installing and troubleshooting software and hardware on Windows systems
Desired Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years experience
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize based on urgency
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Excellent time-management and organization
- Understanding of wireless technologies
- Understanding of TCP/IP and networking essentials
- Working knowledge of VPN technology End-user helpdesk experience
- Asset management
- Active DoD security clearance, as well as the ability to hold and maintain specific security clearances
- US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED
- Experience with:
- Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory and SharePoint Portal Server
- Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005
- Windows 2003 Active Directory: DNS, DHCP, Services for Unix
- Network cabling
- BlackBerry Enterprise Server and BlackBerry devices
- Sonicwall firewalls
- Trend Micro anti-virus products
- EMC NetWorker backup
- Avaya IPOffice phone systems
- Unix (Red Hat) a plus
- DoD classified networks and SIPRNet
Position Location: Reston, VA
